1. About These Terms
These Terms of Service govern your use of UKMODCHIPS and the remote vehicle feature activation services provided by Omilos Group Limited (Company No. 17255932), referred to below as “we”, “us”, or “the Company”.
By submitting a booking request you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not submit a booking.
2. The Service
We provide remote software parameter activation for eligible Stellantis-platform vehicles (Peugeot, Citroën, DS, Vauxhall) using J2534 PassThru diagnostic tooling. The features we activate are factory-fitted and present in your vehicle’s original manufacturer software from the point of production; they are enabled on higher-specification variants of the same model. We do not add, modify, replace, or alter any software or firmware — we unlock what is already there.
We are an independent service provider and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised by Stellantis, Peugeot, Citroën, DS, or Vauxhall. Vehicle compatibility is assessed at the point of booking but cannot be guaranteed until a live diagnostic connection is established.
3. Payment and Hardware Deposit
Payment is taken via Stripe at the time of booking. Your card is authorised (held) when you check out; it is not charged until the activation session is complete. The authorisation is released in full if we are unable to complete the service (see section 4).
Where you select the Mailed Kit option, a separate £100 hardware deposit is authorised on your card to cover the J2534 PassThru interface cable we dispatch to you. This deposit is:
- Separate from the activation service fee and held as a distinct authorisation.
- Released in full within 24 hours of our physical receipt of the returned hardware.
- Captured (charged) if the hardware is not returned within 14 days of the dispatch date shown in your confirmation email, or if it is returned in a condition beyond reasonable wear.
Please retain the prepaid returns label. If it is lost, contact us immediately and we will issue a replacement before your 14-day window closes.
4. Refunds and Cancellations
Right to cancel (distance contracts). Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 you have the right to cancel your booking within 14 days of placing it without giving a reason. If you ask us to begin the activation session within that 14-day window, you acknowledge that the right to cancel is waived once the session has started, in accordance with Regulation 36(1)(a).
Failed or incomplete activations. If a session cannot be completed for any reason — including vehicle incompatibility, hardware variant, market specification, software generation, or a fault on our side — the authorisation hold on the activation fee is released in full and no charge is made. This applies at any stage before or during the session.
Postage costs where kit has already been dispatched. If we have already dispatched the Mailed Kit when a refund is requested, any outbound and return postage costs actually incurred will be deducted from the activation fee refund. The £100 hardware deposit authorisation will not be released until the kit has been physically received back by us.
Completed activations. Once a feature activation has been successfully completed and confirmed to you, the service has been fully delivered and the activation fee is non-refundable. If you believe the service was not delivered as described, you may submit a complaint to hello@ukmodchips.com and we will investigate.

5. Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any matter where it would be unlawful to do so under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 or any other applicable law.
Subject to the above, our total liability to you arising from or in connection with any booking — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise — is limited to the total amount you paid us for that booking.
We are not liable for:
- Pre-existing faults, warning lights, or ECU errors present before the session.
- Changes made to your vehicle’s software by a dealer, manufacturer OTA update, or third party after the session that reset, overwrite, or remove activated features.
- Loss of use of the vehicle, loss of profit, or any indirect or consequential loss.
- Incompatibility arising from undisclosed third-party ECU modifications present at the time of booking.
6. Warranty and Re-coding
We carry out all activation sessions with reasonable care and skill in accordance with the Consumer Rights Act 2015. We make no warranty that activated features will remain unaffected by future dealer software updates or manufacturer OTA updates, as these are outside our control.
We maintain a VIN record of every activation we perform. If a dealer service or software update resets your configuration, contact us and we will re-apply the activation. Re-coding sessions are priced from £70, reflecting the Peugeot/Stellantis service request fee and return postage, and are subject to the vehicle remaining eligible and technician availability.
7. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
